Time: 2pm - 4pm

Venue: St Paul's Anglican Church, 1 Langdale Avenue, Paraparaumu

Discover practical, low-cost, and creative ways to prepare for emergencies at your local Community Emergency Hub.

This hands-on workshop will show you how everyday items can be turned into simple tools to help you, and your neighbours get through a natural disaster. You'll also learn more about community emergency hubs, a place where you and your neighbours can go to help each other in a major emergency.

See demonstrations and take home easy “make-it” guides for:

  • DIY washing machines
  • Headlamp lanterns
  • Sand “battery” heaters
  • Clay pot refrigerators for vegetables
  • Solar ovens

Everyone who comes along will go in the draw to win a 200L water tank worth $129!

Join us at the Paraparaumu East Community Emergency Hub and find out the many ways you can help your community thrive in tough times.
